Five Kind Things Friday: Mid-summer Edition

Five Kind Things Friday: Mid-summer Edition

At The Doll Kind, we can hardly believe that we are already half-way through summer! How are YOU doing on your summer bucket list? We still have plenty of adventures to tackle around here! Today's list includes five kind items on our summer to do list that you may just want to add to your own.

1. Do a summer themed random act of kindness!

We love this idea from randomactsofkindness.org that suggested giving a cold bottle of water to the mail carrier. Summer is great, but it can be brutal. What better way to make someone's day than by simply giving them a bottled water?

2. Be kind and dine outside.

Summer just begs for dining al fresco. Upgrade from your standard blanket to one of these amazing bonded leather mats from Gathre. They're both stylish AND functional, and we personally dig the Gathre mats in mint. Psst...we love that Gathre is a fellow Kickstarter success.

3. Be kind to your tastebuds with this no churn ice cream recipe by Half Baked Harvest.

What more can we say? Homemade ice cream. Five flavors. No churn = no work. The hardest part is waiting the few hours it takes for it to freeze. If you're up for the challenge, your tastebuds will thank you.

4. Be kind to the whole family with these tips for traveling with kids.

Do you still have that summer vacation on the to do list? If so, here's some advice for flying with kids straight from Children's Hospital Los Angeles. Do you prefer to road trip? If so, you can go ahead and team up with my husband for your next vacay. He insists that road tripping is the way to go. I'm a flying kind of gal. Which do you think is easier with kids?

5. Be kind and review this oh-so-true list of "Summer Rules for Parents."

Do you follow MommyShorts? If not, you should. Seriously. Her honest take on parenting refreshing and hilarious. Check out her "Summer Rules for Parents." #11 is definitely a rule around here.

That wraps up our Five Kind Things Friday. Tell us, what's on your summer bucket list?
